Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve

About The Trio Parks in Samburu

Located in Kenya’s rugged northern frontier, Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserves form a spectacular wilderness ecosystem along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. These neighbouring reserves offer a very different safari experience from Kenya’s southern parks, with dramatic semi-arid landscapes, doum palm-lined riverbanks and wide open plains.

The reserves are particularly known for rare wildlife species unique to northern Kenya, often referred to as the “Samburu Special Five.” With fewer crowds, striking landscapes and rich wildlife, the Samburu region offers a more remote and intimate safari experience.
