Itinerary
Arrive in Nanyuki, the vibrant gateway to Mount Kenya. Begin your adventure at the famous Equator Line, where you’ll experience the fascinating Coriolis effect demonstration and capture memorable photos with one foot in each hemisphere. Continue with a guided cultural tour of the local communities—meet the Maa and Kikuyu elders, learn about their traditions, beadwork, and ancient folktales passed through generations.
In the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk along the lush Nanyuki River, spotting colobus monkeys and bird species unique to the area. As the sun sets, indulge in a traditional dinner by the bonfire accompanied by local music and dance, offering an authentic taste of Nanyuki’s rich culture.
After breakfast, set out for an early morning game drive at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to the world’s last northern white rhinos and the renowned chimpanzee sanctuary. Witness the breathtaking landscapes where wildlife roams freely—elephants, lions, buffalo, and graceful giraffes against the backdrop of Mount Kenya.
In the afternoon, visit the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, where conservation meets education, and learn about ongoing efforts to protect Kenya’s endangered species.
Later, explore Nanyuki town, bustling with local craft markets—perfect for picking up bead jewelry, woven baskets, and handmade souvenirs while interacting with friendly artisans.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before embarking on a morning hike or nature trail at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Take in the crisp mountain air and lush greenery as you spot unique flora and fauna. Later, stop by a local coffee or dairy farm for a behind-the-scenes look at how some of Kenya’s finest produce is made—from bean to cup or cow to cream.
