Nairobi National Park is a unique ecosystem by being the only protected area in the world close to a capital city. The park is located only 7 km from Nairobi city centre and is an 117sq km blend of plains and woodland in an area bigger than Paris. Interestingly, Nairobi National Park is the country’s oldest park since 1946, where animals were allowed to roam free in a secluded area.
Although there are no elephants to be found, other major wildlife attractions are in plenty such as the black rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elands (the world’s largest antelope) among others
