Amboseli National Park is located North West of Mt Kilimanjaro on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. It has a large concentration of wildlife especially during the dry season making it one of the popular safari destinations in Kenya.
Amboseli is also famous for brilliant sightings of herds of elephants, which are usually guaranteed, while there. Other than the “ellies”, the park is also home to the other three of the African “big five” consisting of; Cape buffalo, Leopard and the Lion. The park is well suited for bird spotters.
Oltukai Lodge directly overlooks Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Amboseli plains. The eastern boundary is home to several families of elephant and is known to be amongst the best spots in the world to watch elephants. Ol Tukai is an Eco-rated lodge having excellent outdoor and indoor facilities with its unique collection of African art. There are 80 luxury chalet-style twin rooms, all with an uninterrupted view of the wetlands or Kilimanjaro. Stylish and comfortable, the rooms have private bath rooms and individual terraces. Tawi Lodge is located on a private conservancy of 6,000 acres just five minutes from Kimana Gate, the eastern entrance to Amboseli National Park. The lodge is an eco-friendly operation, which takes maximum care of the environment and its people. It consists of 12 cottages ideally located on bush land facing Kilimanjaro. Each cottage has its own wooden-deck veranda and a fabulous view of the highest mountain in Africa, even from the comfort of your bed or your bathtub. Double or twin cottages, all have en suite bathrooms fitted with both a bath and shower. Each cottage has its own fireplace and a mini bar for those very special sundowners. Lighting and water systems are solar powered. A charging facility for cell phones and camera batteries is available. A butler service is provided for maximum privacy and comfort.
